It is estimated that 255 million people used illicit drugs, such as cannabis, amphetamines, opioids, and cocaine, in 2015 which translates into an annual prevalence of illicit drug use of 5.3%. Cannabis is most used with 183 million users. It is estimated that there are 12 million people who inject drugs. The opioid epidemic ravaging the United States is taking a grim and growing toll. The latest numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that 64,070 people died from drug overdoses in 2016. That's a 21 percent increase over the year before. Approximately three-fourths of all drug overdose deaths are now caused by opioids — a class of drugs that includes prescription painkillers as well as heroin and potent synthetic versions like fentanyl.

 

A new report from the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), an independent research organization that focuses on "critical issues in policing," puts those numbers into context.

 

According to the report, more Americans died from drug overdoses in 2016 than the number of American lives lost in the entirety of the Vietnam War, which totalled 58,200. Ex-DEA agent: Opioid crisis fueled by the drug industry and Congress The group says it is focusing its efforts on the opioid epidemic because "despite the groundbreaking work that police and other agencies are doing, the epidemic is continuing to worsen."

 

The report also showed that the year's 64,070 drug fatalities outnumbered:

 

• The 35,092 motor vehicle deaths in 2015.

• AIDS-related deaths in the worst year of the AIDS crisis, when 50,628 people died in 1995.

• The peak year for homicides in the U.S., when 24,703 people were murdered in 1991.

• Suicides, which have been rising in the U.S. for nearly 30 years and totalled 44,193 in 2015.

 

The data also shows that overdoses of synthetic drugs, such as fentanyl — which is 50 to 100 times stronger than the painkiller morphine — are driving the sharp increases in opioid overdose deaths.

The years of Hollywood advertisement of alcohol and tobacco caused great devastation of human lives from 1940 up to our days.

 

You watch movies from the 40th on, and inevitably you will see Hollywood stars and pop singers with a cigarette in one hand and a glass of whiskey on the other. They were the ones used as puppets to propagate the poisons in the world and many became victims of their own foolishness

Since the beginning of the last century, thousands of celebrities had lost their lives for drugs:

 

1. Michael Jackson

Age: 50

Year of death: 2009

Cause of death: acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication.

 

2. Whitney Houston

On Feb. 11, 2012, on the eve of the Grammy Awards, Whitney Houston fell asleep in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles and never woke up. Two months later, the Los Angeles County coroner ruled that she had drowned, but it's been well established that the 48-year-old singer ingested a cocktail of cocaine and prescription drugs before taking her final breath. Most notably, the toxicology report revealed that a "plethora of prescription medication bottles" had been littered across her hotel room -- 12 in total, prescribed by five different doctors. Among the drugs discovered were the anti-anxiety medication Xanax and the muscle relaxant Flexeril. Houston is hardly the first celebrity to have battled a deadly prescription drug addiction. In the past decade, Heath Ledger, Brittany Murphy, Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson were just four of the most famous stars to overdose on legal medication.

Cause of death: Acute intoxication by heroin, cocaine, amphetamines and benzodiazepines

Cause of death: Alcohol poisoning

Age: 39

Year of death: 2007

Cause of death: Acute combined drug intoxication from Methadone, chloral hydrate and three different drugs used to treat depression and anxiety

Age: 33

Year of death: 1997

Cause of death: Cocaine and morphine overdose

 

8. River Phoenix

Age: 23

Year of death: 1993

Cause of death: Cocaine and heroin overdose

Recreational marijuana will officially become legal in Canada on Oct. 17, 2018, the prime minister announced on Wednesday afternoon. Justin Trudeau confirmed the long-awaited start date during Question Period in Ottawa, ending months of speculation surrounding when, precisely, Canadians will be able to purchase and consume the drug legally.

 

The Liberals had initially aimed for July 1, Canada Day, but procedural issues and delays prevented them from reaching that target.

Money, fame and power will never fill the heart of men.

Drugs will never heal your soul. It is like placing a bandaid on a cancer

 

If you ask a drug addict why he/she uses drugs they will answer:

 

• It gives me a good feeling

• It gives me peace

• It gives me joy

• It gives me pleasure

​

Unfortunately, they do not see the price it will cost for a few moments of fabricated pleasure.

 

The Bible does have something to say about drugs. You should look up the word "sorcerers" and "sorceries" in the Scriptures.

​

It is found four times in the New Testament, and it is all in the book of Revelation. The last book of the Bible deals with eschatological times. It is amazing that all four times that drugs are mentioned in the New Testament are in the book dealing with future events, especially the end times, the Rapture and the Tribulation.

 

The word "sorcerer" appears from two different Greek words. One is found in Acts 8:11 and Acts 13:6,8 which are from the word "mageia" (mag-i'-ah, mag'-os and mag-yoo'-o) all related to the practice of magic. In fact, Gk. mag-os is an Oriental scientist, by implication, a magician. However, the four references in the book of Revelation are from different words. Notice these verses:

 

Revelation 9:21 says, "Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts."

 

Revelation 18:23 says, "And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived."

 

Both times in those verses, the Greek word is "pharmakeia", meaning medication, pharmacy. Then in Revelation 21:8 and 22:15, the Greek words "pharmakon" (a spell-giving drug or potion) are referred to. There is no doubt in my mind that the drug trade of our day is referred to here and is connected with Satanism which is widespread in these last days.

 

Revelation 21:8 says, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death."

 

Obviously, drugs will play an important role in man's attitude and in his response to God in the last days. There is a direct link between drugs and Satanism. No one can take mind-altering drugs without having a demonic influence on their lives. The drug trade has emerged and exploded in these last days, just as God said it would be 2000 years ago. You should go back to Revelation 9 and read verses 13-21 again.

 

Friend, if you are not ready to meet God, I urge you to repent and believe while you can.  If you are bound by drugs, you can be free through Christ. "If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36.

 

YOU HAVE A SPACE IN YOUR HEART THAT JUST GOD CAN FILL IT.

 

Drugs place a heavy burden on you, however, Jesus said:

 

“Come to me (NOT TO DRUGS), all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Mathew 11: 28-29

Drugs give you a temporary sense of peace, however, Jesus said:

 

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

 

Drugs give you temporary sense spiritual refreshment and then, oppression comes back, however, Jesus said:

 

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”

John 7:38-40

 

Drugs can kill you, however, Jesus said:

 

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” John 11:25

 

 You must choose which voice you will hear 

Which law you will follow (The Lord or the world)

Which way you will go (The wide or the narrow)

Which person you will follow (Jesus or Satan)

​

Do not be deceived by the world’s leaders lies that legalized drugs.

This is satanic and destructive!

 

Repent of your pride, of your rebellion, and surrender your life to Jesus.

 

• John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

I AM THE DRUG

 

In the beginning, I make you live beyond this present world so full of problems. After a  time I am the very thing that you cannot live without. After you have tried me, you’re mine for the rest of your life. You will give me everything I ask. First, you have money in your pocket to possess me. As soon as your desire for me increases you will have to work extra hours to get more of me. The more you have of me the weaker you become. After a time you will have no more strength to work and will do anything to get money to buy me — Stealing or even killing to get me. 

 

I am purposely destroying your life in every area — physically, morally and spiritually. I will be the one to destroy your family, your health, your morals, your dreams, your hope. I will cause you to go to prison, to hospitals — and to hell.  I have you trapped.

 

You are in love with me. There is nothing in the world that can break our love affair. Doctors, methadone, detox, religion  —  none of these things can stop our relationship.

​

My only true enemy is Jesus Christ. Whatever I destroy, He restores. He has snatched away so many of my followers, and now I see them living so happily with Him. He has the power to neutralize me.  

        

At Calvary, He opened the only door that can take you from my hands.   I came to kill you —  He came to give you life. Unfortunately,  He’s still calling people like you to come under His healing protection. Are you the next one to leave me?
